I wanted to keep a running diary of the 2009 lacrosse National Championship game, because I did watch the game, but I got a bit sidetracked with some of the other major news of the day (see posts below.)
Syracuse trailed Cornell 9-6 with 5:31 remaining in the fourth quarter and tied it up with 4.5 seconds left on a goal by Kenny Nims, who would eventually be named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Cody Jamieson, who tallied just nine goals on the year for the Orange, scored his second goal of the day just 80 seconds into the overtime period to give Syracuse back-to-back National Championships and ten in the program’s history.

Former Red Storm basketball player and New Jersey Nets star Jayson Williams was arrested outside a Raleigh, N.C. nightclub Sunday night after he punched someone in the face, according to authorities. (more…)
