Himeno leads St. John’s to a 4-0 win over Lafayette

August 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Adam Himeno started right where he left off last season by scoring three goals to lead St. John’s to blank Lafayette 4-0.

The junior who was injured primarly for most of last season,  scored his three goals in the first half. His first goal happened when rookie Nick Matthews sent a ball into the box which Himeno capitalized on. Sverre Wegge Gundhus and Joakim Helland set up Himeno for his second goal. To complete the hat trick, Himeno used his speed to beat a defender then bury a ball in the upper right corner of the net.

Walter Hines used his speed in the beginning of the second half to put the Red Storm up 4-0.

Senior Derby Carrillo and redshirt freshman Nunzio Belifiore combined for the shutout.
